Dr. Akanksha completed her M.B.B.S. from MIMER Medical College, Talegaon, MUHS University, Nashik and then went on to get her MS degree with a University level GOLD medal for ‘Highest Ranking in the School of Medicine’ in 2015 at the Dr. DY Patil University.
Dr. Akanksha then underwent Advanced Training in Otolaryngology and Head Neck Surgery from University Hospital Bonn, Germany in 2016. Enthused by the need to constantly keep learning and engaging in an exchange of knowledge, she has over 20 publications to her name, has attended over 50 conferences across the world and presented a total of six papers till date.
She also engages in intensive research with many research papers, most notably on “Revision Endoscopic Sinus Surgery” and “Malignant Otitis external” already to her name along with her ongoing research roles as Principal Investigator in ‘Role of Simulation in training Indian Medical Graduate’ and Principal Investigator in ‘Study on Treatment of Otomycosis with Topical Clotimazole’.
Dr. Akanksha is a trained Medical Simulation Instructor having completed her traning from Mayo Clinic, USA. She has been an active part of developing simulation based education for undergraduate and postgraduate medical training. She has conducted several workshops for medical, ayurveda and nursing graduates across different centres in the country. She also holds the prestigious position of Assistant Editor for The International Journal of Head and Neck Surgery.
Along with being Director & Consultant Otolaryngologist at Kairos ENT & Wellness Centre, Dr. Akanksha works as an Associate Professor in E.N.T. at Dr DY Patil Hospital & Research Centre and also performs the duties of being Program Co-ordinator for the Medical Fellowship Programs at the DY Patil University, Navi Mumbai.
